A brief summary of Asolare events since 1997:

I. Asolare has exhibited a total of 61 artists in its annual exhibition in Lincoln Center's Cork Gallery in Avery Fisher Hall, New York City, since 1997. Our 2006 Lincoln Center exhibition of 51 paintings by 16 artists was July 14th - 24th.

II. Asolare has arranged group exhibitions at Acme Arts in Wilmington NC, the Toe River Arts Council in Spruce Pine NC, the Alamance County Arts Council in Graham NC, the Domicile Gallery, the Realis Gallery, the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Arts Council, and the Urban Artware Gallery in Winston-Salem NC, Leon's at Radiance in Greensboro NC, the Sizl Gallery in Carrboro NC, the Waterworks Visual Arts Center in Salisbury NC, Gallery One-Eleven in Ahoskie NC, and at the Peachtree Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Library in association with the Georgia Fine Arts Academy in Atlanta Georgia.

In 2007 Asolare worked with the No Boundaries International Artists Colony on Bald Head Island to create an exhibition of twenty-six works from the Colony. The exhibition was shown at the Gallery One-Eleven in Ahoskie NC, the Alamance County Arts Council in Graham NC, Leon's at Radiance in Greensboro NC, the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Arts Council, the Waterworks Visual Arts Center in Salisbury NC, and the Lobby Gallery of Wachovia Tower in Greensboro NC.


III. Asolare has organized one-man exhibitions of Nathaniel Kaz, Delfina Nahrgang, Virginai Lyles, Raeford Lyles, Sergej Andreevski, Frank Holder, and Geoffrey Holder at the Captain White Gallery of the Alamance County Arts Council in Graham NC.

During his exhibition Geoffrey Holder visited and held workshops in the Alamance County public schools.

Greg Arens, Art Powell, and Kevin Calhoun were given one-man shows by Asolare at the gallery of the Paramount Theatre in Burlington NC.

Daniel Peddle, a NC filmmaker living in New York City, was introduced to high school students in Burlington NC and gave four lecture/workshops there, and with the help of the Asolare Foundation was artist in residence at the Art Point Gumno in Sloeshtica, Macedonia.

Greg Arens, a painter living in Stuart, Virginia, was artist in residence at the Art Point Gumno in Sloeshtica, Macedonia in 2007 at the recommendation of Asolare.

Solo exhibitions were arranged at the Peachtree Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Library in 2006 for Delfina Nahrgang and Michael Pressley, in 2007 for Kevin Calhoun, Greg Arens, and Chip Holton, and in 2008 for Daniel Whitmer.


IV. In 2001 Sergej Andreevski, an important painter from Macedonia, was artist in resident of Asolare and subsequently featured in the Cork Gallery exhibition of that year. In the year 2002 Mr. Andreevski was exhibited at the Domicile Gallery in Winston-Salem NC and at the Captain White Gallery in Graham NC.

In 2003 and 2004 Asolare sponsored exhibitions of ten Macedonian artists at the Cork Gallery in Lincoln Center as a separate activity from Asolare's annual exhibition there, and in 2006 worked with the City of Skopje, Macedonia and the Art Point Gumno to organize an exhibition of works by 32 American and Macedonian artists at the Center For Culture And Information in Skopje.

V. Asolare has provided residencies since 1995 of various lengths to choreographer Ralph Hewitt, writer Eric Myers (who wrote most of his recently published book "Uncle Mame" here), Mexican painter Jorge Reyes, composer John Appleton, screen play writer Jerome Loston, painter/landscape architect Haley Cook, and painter Daniel Whitmer.

VI. Art instruction has been provided for Annitta Crook, Arlyn Disher, Kevin Calhoun, Art Powell, Fred Stewart, Joshua Harris, Tim Hester, Michael Pressley, Kelly Peterson, Chad Williamson, Shante Houser,and Daniel Whitmer, usually as private lessons.

VII. Two concerts were arranged for the Alamance County Arts Council of classical guitarist Benjamin Bunch, and one concert of original piano works performed by composer Jon Appleton.

Asolare has made no charge for nor requested any form of compensation for any of these activities, nor has it charged commission from any sales which may have resulted from the exhibitions. For the New York exhibitions a minimal fee for transportation of art works to New York is requested from the exhibiting artists. Asolare is supported and made possible by contributions from generous individuals who encourage our activities.
